Description
The 1960 s was simply the most exciting decade in music history known to man. The eruption of talent after the discovery of the Mersey Sound changed the world. What was special was that for a short but glorious and colorful period of time, hardly a week went by without some new creative talent emerging on our airwaves and a new direction in music being created. Looking back at the charts week by week you realize that there was an explosion in song writing, a huge growth in people being interested in music and as a result some really great sounds were made. From the flower power of the Move, The Smoke and the Yardbirds, to the energy of Brit Pop founders the Small Faces, via the pure pop of Dave Dee, the Troggs and the Searchers and onto classics from the Animals and the Kinks. This is brilliant music from TV performances at the time, starring some of the greatest British acts of the decade. Often in black and white these archive performances might not be digital quality but more than make up for that in terms of musical quality and excitement with some extra facts and comments thrown in for good measure.
