Description
Features the original version of this horror classic alongside the recently remade version. In ‘House Of Wax’ (1953), when a wax sculptor’s life’s work goes up in flames, the embittered artist uses his fire-scarred hands to exact revenge on the world. He begins to create sculptures by encasing his human victims in wax, and with his barbaric methods kept secret, enjoys critical acclaim and commercial success. However, his work is disturbed by the investigations of a fearless young woman (Phyllis Kirk), who is determined to find out how her missing friend has come to a sticky end. Vincent Price stars in this cult classic, with Charles Bronson as his faithful servant, Igor. In the 2005 remake, famed director Robert Zemeckis takes the helm, moulding the original premise around the modern blueprint for a horror film. Six young friends on a camping trip have the grim misfortune to stumble into Trudy’s House Of Wax in the small town of Ambrose after being stranded there. The exhibit is filled with remarkably life-like wax sculptures. But as they soon discover, there is a shocking reason they look so real. As the friends uncover the town’s dark secrets, they find themselves in a bloody battle for survival.
