Born in Shanghai, Ji Liu started playing the piano at the age of 3. That concert proved to be a major turning point in Ji’s career. He subsequently left China and relocated on his own to Europe to devote himself entirely to music, first studying in Spain, then Germany until in 2007 he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music and moved to London, which he now considers home. Ji Liu has continued to win awards, has played on some of the world’s most famous stages and has appeared at many international festivals.
