Finally in ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back’ (1998), Stella (Bassett) is so wrapped up in the day to day struggle of earning a crust, that she has forgotten how to really enjoy herself. Lifelong friend Delilah (Whoopi Goldberg) sees the need for Stella to take a break, and so whisks her off on holiday to Jamaica. A holiday romance with a man 20 years her junior reignites Stella’s lust for life, and launches her on a journey of self-discovery.
