Feelgood family tale about a 13-year-old city boy who learns about life when he hooks up with a loveable mutt. When wayward teen Ben (Brandon Tyler Russell) faces a choice between three years in juvenile detention or three months in Ohio on his grandfather Jack (Peter Fonda)’s farm, there’s no contest. Curmudgeonly Jack, however, who he has never met, soon introduces Ben to the hard-grafting realities of life down on the farm, including a first meeting with abandoned farm dog ‘Smitty’, who, with the help of friendly neighbour Mr. Smith (Louis Gossett Jnr), helps Ben learn some important life lessons about family, friendship and responsibility.
