Ultimate Force – Series 1 and 2 DVD Action & Adventure (2005) Ross Kemp

All twelve episodes from Seasons 1 and 2 of the ITV drama following the missions of Special Air Service (SAS) Red Troop. In ‘The Killing House’, Red Troop are called to take command of a bank seige, while in ‘Just a Target’ they are scrambled to uncover an anti-globalist sniper who has attempted to assassinate a European banker. ‘Natural Selection’ finds ten SAS recruits attempting a survival course when things start to go wrong. In ‘Breakout’, three Chechens break into a laboratory where scientists are working on a cure for anthrax – and Red Troop must control the situation. ‘The Killing of a One-Eyed Bookie’ follows the dramatic ambush of Jamie (Jamie Draven) by Northern Irish terrorists, and Henno’s (Ross Kemp) subsequent attempts to free him. Whilst in ‘Something to Do With Justice’, Henno and Twamley (Tony Curran) are thrown out of the regiment for disobedience, while everyone else is sent to Bosnia to arrest a war criminal. In ‘Communication’, a suspicious vessel docks at Southampton. Henno and Jamie sneak on board to plant a tracking device, but they get into difficulty when they lose radio contact and are forced to kill one of the crew. In ‘Mad Dogs’, the aftermath of the fight on board the ship has left Jem (Elliot Cowan) dead and Caroline (Alex Reid) in a coma – while the rest of Red Troop face a judicial inquiry that could see them jailed. In ‘Wannabes’, Red Troop are targetting a far-right group, the ‘Soldiers of Destiny’, who have already blown up a nightclub and are threatening to carry out further suicide bombing attacks if the Government do not comply with their demand to ‘repatriate’ non-Aryans and make homosexuality illegal. ‘The List’ sees Red Troop taking on a mission that would see them expelled from the SAS if they get caught. The mission? To retrieve a top-secret list of terrorist targets from an almost impenetrable security zone. In ‘What in the Name of God…?’, Red Troop is called to a siege at a religious cult where two police officers have been shot dead. Reluctant to attack openly with children in the house, the troop must act silently and with the utmost precision. ‘Dead is Forever’ sees the troop’s leader, Dempsey (Miles Anderson) being taken captive while protecting a government minister on a top secret overseas visit. The rest of the troop are sent to rescue him, but end up unwittingly playing into the hands of the kidnappers.
