17-year-old Cally (Clea DuVall) now lives with her father on a houseboat, after spending the first five years of her life in a commune. Cally’s mother was a free spirit who was allegedly forced to go underground for political reasons, but her absence leaves a gap in the teen tearaway’s life until she meets Sabine (Daryl Hannah), a 34-year-old runaway eccentric.
