The first series follows publisher Howard Steel (Ben Miller) through the week leading up to his wedding, in which he faces a series of disasters and catastrophes during what should be the happiest period of his life. From trying to stop a colleague with whom he had an affair from ruining his big day, to dealing with his pompous in-laws and his drunken best man, Howard faces an uphill struggle to ensure that the day goes as planned. Series 1: Getting married should be the best experience of your life, but for publisher Howard Steel, it becomes a nightmare of gargantuan proportions. Everything that possibly could go wrong, does, and unfortunately for Howard, most of this transpires because of his utmost attempts to do the right thing.
Series 2: In series two Howard and Mel, now married, have a baby on the way. Unsurprisingly things are far from smooth going and Howard manages to make the Cook family hate him even more!
